Draft Admission Policy- Open for Consultation until 18th May 2020
All Boards of Management are required to draft a new Admission Policy in accordance with the requirements of the Education Act 2018 following consultation with the patron, the staff of the school and parents of current pupils.
The new policy must contain a statement that the school will not discriminate against an applicant for admission on any of a number of grounds specified. It also details the process involved in applying for a place in Sixmilebridge NS from Sept. 2021.
The new arrangements will apply to school admissions for the 2021/22 school year and subsequent years. The new arrangements do not apply for admission to the 2020/21 school year.
The school is also required to publish an Admission Notice annually. The details of what must be contained in the policy are clearly outlined in Circular 0007-2020 from the DES. This circular also contains templates upon which the school must base their policy.
We invite all parents and staff of Sixmilebridge NS to read the Draft Admission Policy below and respond, if necessary, to info@sixmilebridgens.ie.
We welcome feedback before Monday 18th May.
