- We had a very fun and active June especially with our Hurling Blitz, Sports Day and School Tour.
- We really enjoyed feeding the animals and spotting a turtle and a crocodile!
- The playgrounds and soccer games were brilliant fun.
- I think the favourite of the day was definitely the giant bouncing castle and slides!
- A great start to Summer 2023! We hope everyone has a super Summer ahead!
We are making great strides in our basketball skills with the help of our super tutors from 6th class! We have been hard at work planting bulbs and seeds in the polytunnel. We loved learning about Spring and St Patrick. Thank you Jessica for playing the tin whistle for us! We drew our daffodils from observation in the polytunnel. We have been busy in Art making lots of bright Spring pictures. We are ready to have a great Easter break! Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!
Comghairdeas to both Rang a hAon who presented beautiful dánta in front of the scoil ar an Mháirt 14ú Márta.
We had a very busy December here in Sixmilebridge N.S.
We had great fun making lots of festive art that we are proud to bring home for the holidays!
Ms Ward brought us to look at the Advent Wreath and Manger and told us about them.
We learned a lot about the traditions of Christmas and how Christmas is celebrated in other countries.
We wish everyone a happy, joyful and peaceful Christmas and look forward to a fun-filled 2023 in SMB!
First Class had a busy afternoon planting Autumn bulbs at the front of the school. Ollie, Noel, Oliver and Ms Ward gave us lots of help to dig holes and plant our bulbs the right way up! It was a group effort! We planted lots of different types and colours of tulip bulbs along the wall. We planted crocuses and daffodils at the base of the trees. We are excited to see the flowers growing and blooming in the Spring.
We in First Class were delighted to be invited down to the local library where we attended a chess workshop with Rory!
We really enjoyed the chess mini-games and learning about the pawn, the rook and the knight. We had a raffle and won a prize of chess! Ms Burke is going to get chess sets for the classroom so we can continue the learning and the fun!
Last week we had our Fun Day. We did lots of activities.
A farm came to school. We saw horses, chicks, a goat and sheep. We had lots of races with Betty the goat. It was great fun.
We also played games. We had an egg and potato race, a sack race and played parachute games.
The Ice-cream Van also visited our school. It was a super day!
We helped Ms. Begley make a Team Hope Christmas Shoebox on our interactive board.
We put clothes, pencils, colours, paper, and a toothbrush and toothpaste into the shoebox.
We put lots of surprises into the shoebox for the children too. We put in a teddy bear, yoyo and bracelet. We are learning about doing deeds with love. We filled the shoebox with love too.
We hope you enjoy your presents.
We learned all about 2D shapes at school.
We know how many sides and corners different shapes have.
We looked around the classroom and outside, and tried to find semi – circles, triangles, squares, rectangles and circles.
We found lots of shapes while on our shape hunt.
We had lots of fun finding the shapes!
