| Over the past few weeks Mr. Keane and Mr. Kilcoyne’s classes have been working on a film in Irish. The classes were both divided into groups of 6 or 7. Then each person was given a role in the drama, Newsreader, Sports Presenter, Entertainment Presenter, Weather Forecaster, News Reporter, Sports Star and Famous Celebrity. Each member was told to write a script for their part, everybody went home and wrote their script. Then they brought it in and started to edit their original draft and they were all put right, each person was told to go home and learn their piece off by heart. We did a few practice runs before making a few last minute adjustments. Each group had to make some slide shows on Microsoft Powerpoint for the background of our own news screenplay. Keith Wilmot helped record Mr. Keane’s class news and reports, whilst James Egan and Jack Flynn helped record Mr. Kilcoyne’s class do their news and reports. After that it was time to record. We had to make lots of small clips so the movie would work. It took around two days to have all the clips done for inside, as we had to record some reports and interviews outside. We learned how to use Windows Movie Maker. We put all of our clips into the movie, added music and even some Youtube clips!! We then edited our movies and it was great fun! Each group really enjoyed using the video-camera, Power-Point, Windows Movie Maker and of course ag scríobh agus ag caint I Gaeilge!!! PLEASE WATCH EACH OF OUR 6th CLASSES NEWS REPORTS.
