It is done every year throughout the world. Our Irish one is based in Dublin and is called called Team Hope. The Shoeboxes are made for all the children in Africa, where they can’t afford anything for Christmas.
Our school always donates to Team Hope. This year we donated two hundred and thirteen Shoeboxes. That’s our school’s biggest record yet! Every year the number of Shoeboxes that are donated increases.
Our school has been donating Shoeboxes for ten years!
The children in St. Finnachta’s N.S. love making Shoeboxes, because they know if they didn’t donate the Shoeboxes the children in poorer parts of the world wouldn’t get anything for Christmas. You can only put suitable stuff in the Shoeboxes and you can’t put anything with an expiry date.
