On the 18th of February eight students out of fifth and sixth classes participated in the Sixmilebridge school spelling bee. The eight students had qualified out of their classes by out-spelling everyone in their class and they were then entered in the school final to see who would be the Sixmilebridge spelling bee champion. The pupils were Luke O Halloran, Cian Fawl, Josh Enright, Ben Shires, Scott Kirkland, Colin Kelly and Caoilfhionn Nic Giolla Cearra. Everyone was great but in the end it came down to Colin Kelly and Caoilfhionn Nic Giolla Cearra and after a long head to head Colin Kelly was victorious. Colin will now go forward to represent the school in the Clare county final in Newmarket on Wednesday March 25th. Best of luck Colin!!
